Pui Kiu College Launches First Alumni–Student Joint Cultural Study Tour to Zhuhai and Macao

To broaden students’ horizons and strengthen alumni connections, Pui Kiu College organised a meaningful cultural study tour to Zhuhai and Macao from 15 to 16 November 2025. In a first for the college, alumni currently at university joined secondary students, using site visits and in-depth conversations to promote cultural understanding and spark reflection on future pathways.

Witnessing Development and Experiencing Culture

Traveling via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, participants experienced the grandeur of this major national infrastructure project and its profound significance for regional connectivity. In Zhuhai, students took the Shijing Mountain cable car for panoramic views and visited Beishan Village to observe the revitalisation of historic districts and the interplay of old and new. In Macao, from the iconic Ruins of St. Paul’s and the Na Tcha Temple to the Grand Prix Museum during race season, students gained insights into the city’s rich historical layers and international dynamism.

Alumni Companions: Passing the Torch

A standout feature of the tour was the full engagement of our alumni. Hong Kong-based university students returned to share first-hand perspectives on campus life, academic choices, and career pathways. These candid, cross-cohort conversations provided invaluable guidance beyond the classroom. Alumni not only addressed students’ questions about the future but also inspired them through personal examples to study diligently and explore their interests.

This pioneering “Alumni-Student” joint model was a resounding success. The programme enabled students to appreciate national development and Greater Bay Area culture while, through authentic role models, deepening their self-understanding and aspirations. It reflects Pui Kiu College’s ongoing commitment to fostering students’ all-round development.
